Just as the temperature begins to show signs of heating up, and my flower beds begin to show signs of life beyond winter, I found the most gorgeous collection of silk photo albums that are simply too elegant to forget. And in fact, I was invited to a fabulous black tie event last weekend at my friend, Lynda's home (yes, her home!) and I so wish that I had come across these works of art before I settled on something lovely as a hostess gift-- but not nearly as special.

“Shop with a Cop” Initiative Returns for Second Holiday Season

For the second year, Montgomery County Police are able to offer the holiday safety initiative, “Shop with a Cop.”  It begins the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 26, and runs through Thursday, December 23.  It was developed to help increase the safety of shoppers, pedestrians, and drivers in the county during this active holiday season.

            Officers in all six of the Montgomery County police districts will be detailed to shopping areas in their districts to provide high visibility, extra security, and to provide reminders about driving and pedestrian safety--especially in parking lots.  Officers will be distributing approximately 5000 bright green reflective and recyclable shopping bags with a driver and pedestrian safety message printed on them.  In some locations these bags will also be distributed by shop owners.

Sears Re-Invents Itself with "Many Sides of Me" Campaign Makeover

Sears recently launched “The Many Sides of Me” campaign, which celebrates the multidimensional nature of women and re-launches the Sears brand as a fashion destination. “The Many Sides of Me” represents the next step in the company’s strategic effort to transform its Softlines businesses and emotionally re-engage women in the Sears brand.  

Sears invites you to visit one of the newly remodeled DC stores Monday, Nov. 1 – Friday, Nov. 5 to see for yourself, first-hand how Sears is reinventing itself and bringing its apparel department back in a whole new way.

The campaign is part of Sears’ goal to develop a long-term relationship with its customers, particularly women. Inspired by real women who aren’t willing to compromise on style, value and versatility, the campaign was designed as a platform for them to explore and celebrate their many sides.
