A total of 122 Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) have earned recognition under the 2011 Maryland School Performance Program. This recognition, given by the Maryland State Department of Education, is based on student achievement on the 2011 Maryland School Assessment (MSA) and the Maryland High School Assessments (HSAs).

Fifty-six MCPS schools received recognition for improvement within a subgroup from the 2010 to the 2011 state assessments. Thirty-six of those schools were also cited for overall achievement. Student subgroups include race/ethnicity, special education, Limited English Proficient, and students who are receiving free or reduced-price meals.

Last year, 103 MCPS schools earned recognition in the School Performance Program.
