Father of missing Md. Hoggle kids organizes search

GERMANTOWN, Md. (WUSA9) -- The father of two missing Maryland children has gathered volunteers at the Germantown Community Center in the search for his children.

Three-year-old Sarah and two-year-old Jacob Hoggle have been missing for almost a month after being abducted by their mother, Catherine Hoggle.

Their father, Troy Turner, is at the community center with the Klaas Kids Foundation Thursday, where he says searchers are being organized and trained on how to track leads and information.

The search party will meet at the Germantown Community Center at 10 a.m. Friday and spread out from there, Turner told WUSA9.

Last week, Turner made a plea to Governor O'Malley to get Maryland State Police to issue an Amber Alert for his children. Police said that the case does not fit the Amber Alert criteria.

Father asks gov. for Amber Alert:

Montgomery County police are searching 60,000 acres for the children, who haven't been seen since Sept. 7. Catherine Hoggle has been questioned by police and she claims the children are safe, but police have been unable to locate the children to verify her story.

Police have said they don't expect to find the children alive and they are building a homicide case against Catherine Hoggle. She has been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and was transferred to a facility in Howard County for a psychiatric evaluation last week.
