DROP OFF DIAPERS and WIN ‘MOMMY and ME’ CUPCAKE DECORATING CLASS at OCCASIONALLY CAKE | Events
Occasionally Cake of Old Town Alexandria needs diapers as part of the Northern Virginia Family Service Diaper Drive. Customers can drop off diapers from Sat., May 4 through Mother’s Day, Sun., May 12, and be entered to win a Mommy and Me Cupcake Decorating Class, to be held on Tues., May 14 at 5 p.m. Three winners will be chosen from a raffle drawing. Call (703) 647-9638 or visit www.occasionallycake.com for more information.
The Mommy and Me Cupcake decorating will be taught by owner, Sabrina Campbell, mom of two daughters and soon-to-be son. She will discuss cupcake decorating techniques, creativity and tips for parent and child.
“My kids love to bake with me, it inspires their imaginations and gives us some quality time together to talk...and of course their favorite part is to taste their creations,” said Sabrina Campbell, Occasionally Cake owner. “Being an expectant mother, I realize the great need for diapers, and thought it would be great to join the Diaper Drive during Mother’s Day, because as a mother you want the best for your child,” said Campbell.
Northern Virginia Family Service’s Diaper Drive runs through May 18, 2013, with drop-off areas throughout Northern Virginia. The Diaper Drive is geared toward helping families in need, who have to reuse diapers or leave children in soiled diapers because they don't have enough, which can lead to infections and diaper rash and lots of discomfort for the babies. Both Alexandria cake boutiques offer more than 100 cake and gourmet cupcake flavors. Occasionally Cake is also renowned for their cake truffles. Instead of discarding leftover cake, it became the centerpiece of their cake truffles, and then dipped in Belgian chocolate.
