C&O Canal Wants Feedback on Turf Farm Water Access Project
Environment

Washington County, MD. – The National Park Service (NPS), Chesapeake and

Ohio Canal National Historical Park, is conducting a public review of the

Summit Hall Turf Farm Water Access Project, Montgomery County, Maryland,

July 2011.



The National Park Service will be accepting public review comments

beginning July 11, 2011 through August 12, 2011.  The draft Environmental

Assessment presents information on projected impacts to park resources.

The project proposes to respond to a request from Summit Hall Turf Farm to

install/modify raw water intakes across the park between Mile 28 and Mile

29.



In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, the National Park

Service invites public comments regarding this project.  Comments received

will be used to evaluate this project.  The National Park Service will be

accepting written comments beginning July 11, 2011 through August 12, 2011.
