Police Investigate Germantown Thefts from Vehicles Left Unattended Outside Daycare Centers
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – 5th/6th District Investigative Section are asking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for several thefts from vehicles at two Germantown daycare centers. From December 3rd, 2010 through February 24, 2011, there have been four incidents of theft from vehicles parked outside of two daycare centers. All of the incidents occurred from vehicles which were left unlocked as parents/guardians picked up their children. All four of these events occurred between 6:00 - 6:50 p.m. The property that was stolen includes electronics, credit cards, and cash. On December 3, December 6, 2010, and February 24, 2011, between 6:00 p.m. and 6:50 p.m., three thefts occurred at the Kindercare Daycare center, located at 13230 Clopper Mill Road in Germantown.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section have been investigating a series of armed robberies of taxi cab drivers and food service delivery men that had occurred between February 14 and February 21, 2011, in Germantown and Rockville. 

      On February 22 at approximately 12:20 a.m., a 1st District officer was flagged down by a cab driver who was reporting that he had been the victim of a robbery that had just occurred in the 12700 block of Veirs Mill Road.  Through the course of the investigation it was learned that the driver had picked up two Hispanic male passengers, and when he told them the cost of the fare, one suspect produced a handgun and demanded cash from the driver.  The driver complied and the suspects fled on foot.  Officers immediately began a search for the suspects but were unable to locate them.

Germantown Drug Dealer Sentenced to 25 Years in Prison

Greenbelt, Maryland - U.S. District Judge Roger W. Titus sentenced Bryon Anthony Grey, Jr., age 26, of Germantown, Maryland, yesterday to 25 years in prison followed by eight years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine, and possession of a gun in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

Arrest of Four Burglary Suspects

 Detectives from the Montgomery County Police 5th/6th District Investigative Section arrested three suspects and charged them with two residential burglaries.  A fourth suspect was arrested and charged with theft.  All four are believed to be responsible for many other burglaries in the area. 

On November 23, 2010, Officers responded to the 600 block of Lakeworth Drive in Gaithersburg, for the report of a burglary.  It was learned that a tan unknown model SUV was seen at the residence during the burglary.  Through the course of the investigation, Kaba Camara was developed as a suspect.

On December 15, 2010, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Camara was observed with two other males in the area of the 9100 block of Bobwhite Circle in Gaithersburg.  It was later learned that a residence there had been burglarized.

15 canines seized, nine euthanized; two residents and Germantown man face charges

Margie Hyslop for The Gazette.net reports that Montgomery County police are investigating possible dog fighting operations after a raid at a residence west of Laytonsville.

Fourteen pit bull-type dogs and one Presa Canario were seized in December after animal services officers checked to ensure proper care of canines at a house in the 8100 block of Brink Road.
