The following information was sent to us by Rahiem Swann:

Journey’s Crossing Church, in Partnership with Living Water International and many other sponsoring

organizations, will host The Reel Water Film Festival (RWFF) on June 16, 2012.  The festival’s main goal is

to raise awareness of the global clean water crisis, which holds back human progress and subjects large

segments of humanity to lives of poverty, vulnerability, and insecurity every single day.  Not only will the

festival raise awareness of this issue, but they’re taking it one step further by committing to raising the

funds necessary to install at least one fresh water well in a country in Africa (exact location TBD).  The

planning team hopes to continue this festival for many years and raise the number of wells installed

exponentially each year.

The festival will take place on Saturday, June 16th 2012 at the Black Rock Center for the Arts in Germantown,

MD, less than 30 miles north of Washington DC.

The RWFF will be open for submissions by the end of February 2012.  Short films from a variety of genres

will be accepted with only two requirements— films must not exceed 25 minutes and an element of water

must be included somewhere in the film (someone drinking it, a puddle, an ocean, etc – get creative!). Full

submission guidelines have been posted on the website: www.reelwaterfilmfest.org.  All submissions

are due by Midnight EST on May 5, 2012 and there is no fee to submit.  This will be a family-friendly film

festival, therefore no film that would receive a rating higher than PG-13 by the MPAA will be considered.

For submission inquiries, please email Programming Director, Mark Leisher mark@reelwaterfilmfest.org.

The RWFF is seeking individual and business sponsors to help meet its fundraising goals.  If you would like

to donate to the festival, please visit www.reelwaterfilmfest.org/donate.  All donations are tax-

deductible and will directly support the goals of the festival.  For more information about sponsorship and
